Enjoy making this easy IHQ Butterfly Table Runner in a weekend. Have fun picking out shades of fabric to make the butterflies. I opted of the shades of peach and orange for the outer triangles. It really reminded me of early morning or that lovely afternoon sunset. Both are my favourite times of day and I thought it would be perfect to bring those colors into this quilt.
The triangle designs are done using the sew and flip method, making these pieces really quick to stitch out. Once the fabric is all placed, a delicate quilting design is stitched on. This is all done in the hoop, on your embroidery machine.
The butterfly blocks are done using the applique technique. The butterfly blocks are easy to make. Just add the fabric, trim in place and embroider. The butterfly blocks are made and quilted in the hoop.
The pieces are then joined together to create the table runner and then extra batting and a backing is added. This section of the project is done with a sewing machine.
